Hi
I have a laptop and a screen attached to it. I always use the screen for photoshop as its much larger. I open my NEF raw files directly into Camera Raw. I don't think I made it do that, as its always done it
My problem is when a file is opened, it open Camera Raw on the laptop screen. There does not seem to be a method of moving it to the monitor. Its most annoying as the monitor is calibrated and the laptop screen isn't, so the images show colour differently
I would be glad to hear any suggestion that might solve this
Thanks

I found a workaround, and it has continued to work so far, even after opening and closing Photoshop. It requires two pieces of third-party software: WinSpy (https://github.com/strobejb/winspy/releases/tag/v1.8.4)(isn't malicious, even though Windows thinks it is), and Screen Coordinates Tool (http://www.breakthrusoftware.com/html/onlinedocs/kb/installkb/ScreenCoordTool.html)
1. Open ScreenCoordTool and see what the coordinates of your display are. Mine were 1920, 1080 (top left corner of display2 on my laptop). Make a note of what yours is.
2. Open WinSpy and drag the Finder Tool over the CameraRaw window.
This should reset the window's position to the top-left of the secondary display.

Good afternoon,
I am having this same problem with a tower with W10 upgraded to the latest version with the latest versions of LR Classic and PS.
My card is a RTX 2060 also upgraded.
The problem is in my workflow: I develop in LR Classic, open as Smart Object and in Ps, when I try to open the smart object, it opens on the second monitor.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs.
Thank you very much for your help.

I had the same problem (Window 11, primary screen BenQ 240SW, secondary Huion Kamvas 22 Plus, RTX 3070). Both are in a vertical array, the principal at the top. My solution may depend on this disposition of the screens. You may have to temporarily modify your displays' disposition to that too yourself.
What happened is that the title bar of camera raw was hidden beyond the top of my BenQ. Hence, the difficulty since this is the bar to click and drag upon to move that window. Your title bar should be of a lighter grey than the rest of your interface ; it should display "Camera Raw xx.x.x" (15.5.1 in my present case) at the top right.
To get access to it, after a few trials and errors, I had to grab the bottom of that window (the pointer will turn into a vertical double-arrow, as you likely know). Click and drag down to the other display, and this should reveal the title bar. From then on, you should be able to position the Camera Raw window at your liking. It will keep reappearing where you chose from then on whenever you invoke it in the future.
Hope this help.

OMG you're a genius - it worked. So I had to move my phooshop window over to my main screen, expand and minimize and THEN I was able to see the Camera Raw title bar. Thank you!!

Just found an easy way to move the Camera Raw window from monitor to monitor as Photoshop was open on one monitor and Camera Raw was open on another, which I didn't want.
To cure it, all I had to do was press the Shift key, the Windows Key, and the right (or left) arrow key together, and the Camera Raw window moved to the screen where I wanted it.

Minimise the window on the borders with the little arrows that appear. The window should be movable if you scale it down small enough. For some reason this only works when you scale the window down.

I found a solution to this that doesnt require 3rd party software!! (WHAT?!) Edit->Preferences->General->Workspace->Uncheck "Open Documents as Tabs"
You're welcome, lol

Go to Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw. Click Camera Raw with the Control key pressed and press OK.. It clears the preferences.
