Camera Raw Problem

I have used Camera Raw for years with no problem, two days ago it started have a strange anomaly in bright areas such as a sunrise, the sun has a bright red blob. have tried various fixes, to no avail. It occurs with both JPG or NEF files. Sample attached. I am stumped - help!
