Camera Raw Unable To Open .fff Files

I tried opening several .fff files from the one folder. Camera Raw's response was:

"Could not open “Lancefield18 _0023.fff” because the file-format module cannot parse the file."

Other raw files in the same folder can be opened. Strange, ah? All the raw files affected had originally been processed using Phocus and exported as .tif files. This error response has not occured with any files in other folders.

Does anyone know how to allow me to open those files in Camera Raw?

Your alternate develop app probably created sidecar XML files for the develop settings and ACR is trying to read them as its own while the data may not be compatible. You may need to delete the offending files or at least move them out of the way. Similarly, if you chose to embed those settings in the files themselves, you may need to go back and strip it.

    Thanks Mylenium. Makes sense. Strangley it hasn't happened with any other of the thousands of raw files processed the same way, but your answer is something worth looking into.
