Can I "upgrade" my own swatch files to "Library" status? My question is motivated by this color picker, which privides the ability to pick colors from a Library but not a swatch file.

Hi MarieMeyer,

I don't think you can upgrade your swatches collection to one like the color picker library. However, this seems like a great idea and our Engineering would love to get this feature request. Could you share this as a feature request here? Photoshop | Photoshop Family Customer Community

Restart Photoshop, and should appear after you click libraries.here.

When I save the file, the extension is .ase. Is that the same thing?

.ase might work, but use the save swatches command to get .aco.

.ase comes form using save swatches for exchange. While I suspect .ase might function cannot try since at work I do not have admin rights.  The trick is you may need to restart Photoshop after doing this. Sorry nto sure am going form memory of how I did this before.
