Question

Can I edit an exsiting Adobe PDF in Photoshop?

I want to change the texts on resumes, this way I can add new information for my employees. In the past I have had to create a new resume each time there was something new to update. I do not want to use Adobe Acrobat DC to do this because I like the fonts and more of a variety of tools in Photoshop. Is there another app I can download to be able to help me Upload the old resume, Edit it, then save it as a PDF.

Thank you In Advance.

Photoshop is generally not used for resumes. Yes you can fudge edit. But it would be better to edit in Acrobat, or best way is to copy text from pdf and place in InDesign. Then you have total control and you can always save a pdf. But be sure to keep the InDesign file for quick and way changes.

If you happen to have Markzware's PDFMarkz or it's predecessor, PDF2DTP, then you can convert your PDF to an InDesign file to make edits in InDesign.

PDFs are not meant for this kind of editing and PS will turn them into pixel data. This is at best a hacky workflow and if you send a potential employer such a file, it will speak for itself and not in a good way. The files are bigger and since the text is not stored as editable data, it cannot be ingested into automatic document management systems. This really is not the best of ideas.

Adobe Acrobat (or Adobe Illustrator) can edit native PDFs as long as they are not locked.
