Help!  I'm trying to move through images and words on a file.  I can't click through them. I have to go over to the layers panel and click on them there.  Then to change the words or font I have to click on the text box. .I can no longer double click it. I have cleared my cache, went to prefrences and unclicked the use graphic processor and even reinstall photoshop but nothing is fixing this.  I am currently in the middle of 55 banners and really can't deal with this right now!  UGH!  Help me please!

Could be a memory problem.  How big is your scratch disk?  How much RAM is available to Photoshop?  Have you restarted your computer?

@Mattinglyp

Your post is a little confusing, but it might be that you are used to Auto-Select being on and it's been turned off.

  • Select the Move tool and look in the options bar (Window > Options if it's not showing)
  • Is Auto-Select checked? If not, check it and see if that solves your problem
  • You can also use the older shortcuts: Ctrl+Click on a pixel to select the layer or right-click in the document to see a list of all layers under your mouse click
  • Another option is to Reset the Move tool: select the Move tool, then right-click the icon in the options bar (not Tools panel) and Reset Tool

If this is not it, please clarify
