Question

Can not open Photoshop documents older than a year old.

Any PSD file I have backed up older than a year are unrecognized by Photoshop CC2020. All my external backups hard drives including Apple iCloud backups will not open using Catalina 10.15.4. Can not find a solution on the web. Anyone know why this has happened and if resolvable?

I don't know how, but 90% of my backup PSD documents are only 160+-bytes large. They are not aliases, nor, some kind of place holder, in my opinion. Sometime after March 2018 my psd files lost data. Have no idea what happened. I use three backups plus Time Machine. They are all the same. Weird that I can't trust backups any longer.

Hello, can Bridge show them? can you open them in ACR in Bridge?

What about local files?

Are the discs in ExFAT format? I think there are/were problems with that in Catalina.

Can you move the files with the finder to a local disk?

Bridge does not open them. I can move any of these files to my main boot SSD, no joy. What the heck is wrong w Adobe Photoshop?
