Can Photoshop show me the colors that are out of gamut in sRGB? I have an image created in Adobe RGB and I want to know what parts of it are out of gamut in sRGB. If this is possible, I would appreciate a step-by-step explanation.

Hi

Don't change the color space of the document yet, leave it in Adobe RGB. Go to View > Proof Set up >Custom and select Device to Simulate  "sRGB IEC61966-2.1". Then check View .> Gamut Warning (Shift+Ctrl+Y)

Gamut warning is of limited usefulness because it doesn't tell you how much out of gamut. There is some arbitrary threshold value there, but I don't know what it is. It's not entirely accurate.

 

The best way is to use a wide gamut monitor and soft proof to sRGB. This shows you directly what any gamut clipping will do to your colors.

 

If you have a standard gamut monitor, everything you see is already clipped to sRGB. Any color you see is within sRGB gamut.

      Yes. Change the color space to sRGB then View > Gamut Warning
