We purchased the WideTEK 24F flatbed scanner and are trying to set up our workflow. Today we found out that we're not able to edit the TIFF images in PS. When we click on the "Edit" dropdown, all options are greyed out. I have tried disabling the home screen in PS and opening from Bridge. Does anyone who is more Ps savvy than me know what the problem might be?
Also, I have tried to put the image in Lightroom, but it won't load. When I hover over the warning "!" triangle it says "This file does not contain a supported format (or might be damaged)."
The example file we have may be sensitive archival material, so I won't attach it here. Let me know if I should scan another document to upload for troubleshooting.

There is no way to send the file directly into Photoshop.
Once on disk, you can also import the file into the Lightroom catalog. Again, you can't open directly.
There once was something called the TWAIN interface, a plugin used to access the scanner software from within Photoshop. But that's a long time ago. There never was a 64 bit TWAIN, so it effectively died around 2008-2010.

Ah, thank you. We are able to get it into Ps, but the edit tools are greyed out. So, I've been trying to open it in Ps in different ways to see if that would fix it to no avail. We are currently saving to our network/share drive and opening it from computer to Ps/Bridge/Lightroom.

Scan to disk in your scanner software and then open.
