Can't open an image of fake money made for Motion Pictures.

I'm working on a movie poster for a client. I shot fake money (specifically made for use in movies, it actually says on the bill in 3 spots "Motion Pictures Purposes") The bill is also has colour so clearly not made to look like the real thing.

I try to open the file in PS to add to my poster but it won't let do it. Instead I get a warning. "This application does not support the printing of banknote images."!!!
So kind of frustrating since this is a clearly not even a real looking bill. What's even more bothersome is PS analyzes / scans images before a user opens!
I wonder what else they block.

Photoshop doesn't think it is fake, there is nothing you can do.

Hi @ironchef_marc Photoshop (and other programs) look for EURion and other security symbols, which are embedded into currency around the world. PS is looking for a pattern of symbols to block, that's all. There are some workarounds for opening images of currency, but I don't want to post them here. Since your bills are tagged as motion picture props, you'll probably stay out of jail, lol.

Thanks that's actually useful comment and information. Still baffled as to why PS thinks this is a real bill.

You're welcome. It thinks it's a real bill because the script is not reading the text, "motion picture purposes." It is looking at the rest of the patterns. Your bill is enough of a real bill as far as they are concerned. The pattern of the serial number, the shape and drawing style of Franklin and the feather, the placement of things, and the security paper are all realistic.
