Suddenly photoshop won't open some of my jpgs: "Unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found." What the heck??

That usually means the jpeg is corrupt, or it was saved out from an application that doesn't follow the jpeg specification.

If you can open it somewhere else, try to resave it from there.

The files were created using Photoshop. I noticed they were on the large side at 20+MB and other files that were 2-3MB opened okay. I had to open with Preview, export as a pdf, open the pdf with Photoshop and resave as smaller jpg. That worked, but is not convenient and doesn't help me with large files. I'm storing them on Dropbox cloud, would this play into it somehow?

Sorry Ged, I was in kind of a hurry and this is my first ever forum post. I guess there's a learning curve here as anywhere. Thanks for the link.
