I'm newer to photoshop so this may be a dumb question, but when I convert my rounded rectangle into a smart object, the rounded corners become straight again. How to fix this so they stay rounded?
With your image selected (Screenshot ....) try to press Alt + Ctrl + G to clip image to layer below (Add Design Here) which seems shape layer with stroke. If that does not work then someone else may understand better whats going on.

Is the rounded rectangle in a group?
Is it a vector shape layer?
Can you show us a ful res screen shot of your workspace with the layers panel visible, and the rectangle layer selected?

Which version of Photoshop and OS? Normally it will just create Smart Object container without any visible change. I can not replicate on Win, Photoshop 24.5.0.
