Can’t Save Files in Photoshop 2025 – Permissions Issue on New iMac

Every time I go into a file and make a change and then try to save it, it says I do not have permission. I look at GET INFO and it shows that everyone can read and write and the file is unlocked. Then I open the file again and still it will not allow me to save. Photoshop 2025 on a new iMac.

thank you and thanks to everyone who tried to zero in on a solution. I found out that the problem was somehow the folder all those files were in. When I took a file out of the folder opened it and saved it, it worked! I took all the files out a deleted the folder. Then all the files worked. I have no idea why that was the case but boy was I happy it was an easy, though not intuitivie fix.

I found two possibilities -- filename+path too long, and folder permissions (not file) needed to be Read & Write.

Also, see if Ps is set to allow full access to files and folders.

I had the same problem and it turned out I had to update Photoshop. I always update but still had that problem.
