Can't save TIF or PSD in Photoshop 2020 on Mac OS

I've been trying to save a file for a solid 3 hours and Ive been unable to save 1 file onto my hard drive. I have also been trying to export the image but photoshop keeps telling me that my file exceeds the 2 or 4 GB limit. I keep checking my file and it barely cracks 1 GB so I don't know what's going on.
