Can't see new downloaded filter in Photoshop CC?

I have downloaded a new filter in Photoshop CC...and added it to the Plug-ins folder - but i can't see it in the filters drop down menu?

I have tried restarting the program.

Does anyone know how i can find the filter?

    Do you read the Plug-in manual to make sure that it is the right way to install it?

    Do you have the version of plug-in that is compatible with your Photoshop version?

    Thank you for replying to my post Omar - I am very new to using Photoshop and wanted to download some good filters for my photos....so i just googled free ones - i can't see where they state compatibility information.

    Where do you recommend i download a free filter from? It would be good if i could use download one successfully that works.

    I really appreciate your help

    Try with Creative Cloud Exchange Creative Cloud

    When you open product page there is compatibility info on the right side. Also read Where to Find It section for instructions how to make it work or where to find new extension.
