Can you customize the stroke appearance in custom shapes?

This may be a real quick answer, but I know that in Illustrator you can edit the type of stroke you use on certain things (I'm not super experienced with Illustrator so hopefully this makes sense) but is it possible to edit the appearance of the stroke in custom shapes beyond the preloaded options? Thanks!

Is this an Illustrator question or a Photoshop question?

In Photoshop CC, stroke settings for shapes are located across the top of your workspace.  See screenshot.

Hope that helps.

Yes, you can customize stroke around custom shape. Customization is very limited compared to Illustrator because Photoshop is raster based program. There are options for dotted, dashed line (stroke) and their color and distribution but that is it.
