Cannot hide the white background (doesn't show the chequered background)

Hello! a few days ago everything was OK with Photoshop but today, I cannot visualize the chequered background when I hide (and unlock) the initial white background. Not using any mask.  Trims transparent pixels OK (even with the white background showing). Appreciate your help. Sending a pic showing the problem as reference. Using PS 2024 preview
