Cannot open a pdf file in photoshop CC 2018 "could not complete your request because of a program error"

Hello,

I cannot open a pdf file the error message in the title appears. I have researched for solutions and have reseted the preferences and checked the permissions and nothing works. Please help me. I'm not exactly sure where to find the error log so I can copy and paste it here to show. I can open other pdf files but not this one that I was using yesterday.

    Was just having this issue, unable to open a PSD PDF with layers. Ran the 19.1.0 update and then it opened just fine.

    I've seen this issue come and go before, never tracked down the actual cause, so I'm not convinced its actually fixed. Maybe the update resetting photoshop cleared the issue for now, so it might not be a permanent fix in the update.

    What a surprise, no solution or replies from Adobe. I'm having the same problem. Unable to open 2 PDF files. The error offers no code for troubleshooting. I've perused dozens of similar threads and none of the mentioned remedies work, including resetting preferences.

    Having the same issue for the second time this month. I updated but it didn't help. I downgraded to a previous version and ran into the issue again.  It has been happening for a long time. Adobe knows about it but continues to roll out subpar programs and not fix existing ones.

    Try to open it in Illustrator, save it again, then try in Photoshop.

    Maybe you'll have some problems with fonts. You can try to open it in a preview of your operating system and save it again.

    I can open it and save it as a eps in illustrator. It's the layers that I was trying to save. I was able to get around the problem just a little frustrating. Thanks for your help

    HI,

    I did a search on my computer and I don't have acrobat on it. I can open it in adobe illustrator though.
