Cannot open any mp4 file from iPhone into Photoshop

Just got the newest Macbook Pro. Am trying to import some mp4s into photoshop that i downloaded onto my desktop. When i go to open the mp4s, all less than 60 seconds, none of them are given the option to open with photoshop it cannot "read this file type". I have photoshop running on a much older computer and I never had an issue, and now I cant open any video file it seems. Am I missing something? I have Quicktime and it plays fine there.
