Cannot Open Files in Photoshop 2025

Question

Whenever I try to open any file in Photoshop 2025 I get the message:

Could not open “<filename>” because the file was not found. This happens when I try to open a jpg, dng, or tiff from Lightroom OR from Finder. I'm using a MacBook Pro M4 with plenty of disk space, memory, etc. Didn't use to happen. HELP!

I ended up uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling it. Works fine now.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
