Hello,
I just installed PS but i cannot sample the clone stamp using the ALT key.
When i pres ALT i get 2 little arrows and i can move the image/layer while leaving behind a copy of it.
I already reset the tool, checked the options in the option bars but those all seem to be fine and since i just installed PS i think it has bin like this all along.
Please help.
With kind regards,
Sam

Are you sure you pressed the alt-key and not the cmd-key?
Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Clone Source, Options Bar, …) visible?
What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Hi,
First of all thank you for your response.
for troubleshooting i resetted the tool and restored the preferences.
I uploaded an image of the photoshop layout with the clone stamp selected.
Also i uploaded an image of my mouse cursos with the first being when pressing down the ALT key and the second with pressing down the CTRL key.
It might be worth mentioning that i have not bin able to use to clone stamp tool as it should work before.

Thank you in advance,

With no key pressed is the cursor the usual circle?
The two arrows correspond to pressing cmd-alt and the two arrows to cmd – so I wonder whether the issue might lie with the keyboard? Do cou have another keyboard you could switch in for testing?
Do other Tools (the Rectangular Marquee Tool for example) behave normally?
