cannot save file because it is locked.

I downloaded my bank statement in psd format and cannot save file in psd or pdf , because it says file is locked. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

photoshop file is locked

Try Save As and use a different file name.

or

Right click the layer and choose Duplicate, and from the drop-down choose New Then save the new document.

or

Right click and make a Smart Object. Double click the SO which will open it in a new window as a PSB file, and save that.

I've not actually heard of PSD files being locked.

OK, just realised what is probably going on.

Find the file with File Explorer or Finder

Right click and choose Properties.

Uncheck Read Only
