Canon CR3 files

Question

Hi.

I just got my Canon R6 camera and have problems with CR3 files.

I´m on a iMac from mid 2011, macOS Sierra 10.12.6

Lightroom 8.4.1

Photoshop 20.0.4

I can´t read the CR3 files in lightroom or photoshop. Also I can´t preview any picture in finder.

Anyone that can help me please??

What is the Camera Raw version you are using in Photoshop?

If you prefer processing RAW images with ACR instead of the camera maker’s proprietary software you might want to petition them to allow shooting DNG so that Adobe does not have to play catch-up with each new camera model’s RAW format.

Please see for yourself which version of Camera Raw supports a camera and which version of Photoshop is compatible with that ACR version:

Using the free DNG Converter might be an alternative.
