Cant find images when using the batch option

When I open PS and select; file> automate> batch> select my action> and choose source folder there are no images in the folder? I know that they're in fact in there as I can open a single image in PS from the same folder no problem. Why can't I find the images I want to batch??

There is difference between operating systems.

On the Mac side one can see the files in the folder one selects as source.

On the Windows side one doesn't see the files in the folder one selects as source.

File>Automate>Batch is for processing all the files in a folder, so yes if select a folder all the files inside will be processed.

I'm using the latest version of photoshop 24.2.1 on windows 11.

So you're saying the file selected will batch and run the action even though I can't see the images?

What operating system and version of photoshop are you using?

Are the folders on your drive or external drive?

When you use File>Automate>Batch you process all the images in a folder.

Automate>Batch doesn't allow for only picking certain files.

As an alternative you can use Adobe Bridge, select the images you want, then go to Tools>Photoshop>Batch

I am trying to process all the images in the folder. The problem is, is that there is nothing in the folder when I select it. I used the single image example because I know the folder has images in it, if I select file> open> and select that folder the images will populate, but they won't populate when trying to batch.
