Canvas Extension in CS-6

New Here ,
Oct 13, 2019 Oct 13, 2019

Hi my cs6 canvas extension will only work once after starting up. After that I seem to be unable to use it with the foreground colour not dplayed but greyed out. How do I reset it to work correctly. Keith Fraser.

Are you referring to Image>Canvas Size?

What operating system are you using?

The Canvas extension color only works if your document has a Background Layer.

Thanks for that Jeff. I managed to get around it somewhat by flattening the layers but I then loose some data so I am sure there is a better way. I am using Win7 Ultimate and 64bit. regards, Keith.

You can add a Background Layer to your layers by simply making a new blank layer and then going to Layer>New>Background from Layer or turn any existing layer into a Background Layer by going to Layer>New>Background from Layer.
