It was not easy to be able to find a way to post in a forum. Lol
Well, a simple question. I want to resize the canvas in Photoshop CS6 (not a CC version but a very nice application on Windows 10).
When I press ALT + CTRL + C or clicking on 'Image - Canvas size' menu item, nothing appears.
If I click on Image menu again, then I see all menu items are grayed out. Nothing works. Every time I click on somewhere in the canvas it plays a warning sound. Nothing happens. I had to use Task Manager's End Task to close Photoshop and restart it. I've tried to check Alt-Tab, Task View, Multiple desktops to see if the dialog box is in the background or somewhere else, but no dialog box was active. I rebooted the computer system but it is the same as before. All other dialog boxes appear and work fine. 'Canvas size' is the one and only one dialog box that disappears.
What has happened to it?
I've been using dual monitors but there was no dialog box opening in the secondary monitor. But I wanted to make sure if the extended view setting of the dual monitor could make trouble. I reset the dual monitor by setting it to duplicate screen. That solved this issue and the Canvas Resize dialog box shows up now.

Try opening another image file to see if that makes a difference. If not, try Restore Preferences.
To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard shortcut: Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.
