Catalina + Photoshop 2020 = Saving error

Hi!

I just installed Catalina 10.15.1 and latest Photshop 2020.
Big issue with saving.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it freezes mostly around when save gets to 20%.

Which makes the whole psd file corrupt. Wasting hours and hours of work.

Any input on this will be very grateful.

Same issue. This is totally unacceptable, I've lost hours of work. There's no logic as to which files becomes corrupt, it seems to happen randomly.

Hi all that are running into this saving/corrupt files issue in Catalina,

Can you let us know the hard drive format each of you have your drives formatted as? (hfs, hfs+, exFAT, NTFS, etc)

Hi Pete!

I think you´re on the right track..;)

I have worked directly to my external samsung ssd drive. ExFat formatted with the issues mentioned

I have now worked all day on a different external drive RAID(drobo) and it´s been working with no issues so far!!!

Not sure how the drives are pre-formatted from the producer?! Seagate drives though.

It does seem this particular corruption issue has to do with the ExFat file system.

We've let Apple know and are working with them to resolve this.

We'll provide more info when we know more!

Hi Chris,

We're really sorry for the save issue. Are you facing this issue with all the files or any specific file formats? Could you please turn on the legacy compositing in Photoshop preferences > Performance tab > restart Photoshop and let us know if that helps.

Also, are you facing this issue after the recent update of Photoshop 21.0?

I'm facing the same problem. Infect its not open when i force quit the photoshop. I have to restart my Mac to open Photoshop

Same issue here! Has been a week since someone post and still no fix. Crashing computer and files! Catastrophy!
