CC 2017 copy & paste problem

Community Expert ,
Nov 11, 2016 Nov 11, 2016

On Win10 -- latest updates -- I can't copy text from PSD and paste into plain text editor.

Purging Clipboard shows clipboard grayed out.  So nothing is sticking in the clipboard

I had a similar problem with the early 2015 release.

OK.  I'll file a bug report then.

Thanks, JJMack.

However

I see the same problem when export clipboard is un-checked like Adobe suggest. If Check export clipboard and restart Photoshop the text will get into the clipboard.

That's the whole point of enabling/disabling the export clipboard feature...

Not in prior version of Photoshop.

That explains why I said I didn't see it. I had that preference option checked

I already had Export Clipboard checked as I routinely copy stuff to clipboard.

I closed out CC 2017 and opened 2015 to do what I needed.

It should not matter how the preference is checked.  I could always  copy text from Photoshop text edit  mode to the clipboard in prior version of Photoshop. Something has changed in CC 2017.

Hi Nancy

I am not seeing that issue here - have you tried purging the windows clipboard

Type cmd into the windows search box.

Run the command prompt

Type in echo off ǀ clip

I did try purging clipboard but it was grayed out as if nothing was in it.

Maybe shutting it down will help.  We'll see.

Hi Nancy

The Photoshop Edit Purge can be grayed out but the windows clipboard can still contain data. Just proved it by pasting the word Photoshop into this text when Photoshop clipboard is grayed and again when Photoshop is closed.

Hence the command prompt version.

May help - may not

OK, thanks Dave.

I don't know why they have to make things so complicated.

I'm all for changes that improve workflows.  But change for change sake is nuts.
