CC Actions Compatibility with CS6

Generally speaking I believe actions should be able to run in either CC or CS6. However, I have purchased an action set created in CC that runs the ACR Filter. There is no ACR Filter in CS6 thus when the action is run and hits the ACR Filter call the action stops and gives the error message

"Could not complete the command because this version of Photoshop does not supply the services required by this plug-in module".

Does anyone know how to either install ACR Filter in CS6 or is there a way to make this run as is? I believe I know the answer to be it can't be done but I'm hoping there are wiser minds than mine.

Thank you!

Jim

You can exclude step with ACR filter and action will play but final result may not be as expected, it depends what action is doing in ACR. To exclude step you must expand action. If you see error message just click Stop and Photoshop will highlight step with ACR filter. The next step is to click on triangle with confirmation sign on the left side of action step.

Thanks Bojan, I've tried that already. When it runs I get the following error message. When I turn off the ACR call the action completes but it appears practically all of the effect is in the raw filter.

Please post a screenshot of the expanded step in the expanded Action in the Actions Panel.

What is the result supposed to be and what is it (please post screenshots)?

Generally speaking I believe actions should be able to run in either CC or CS6.

That assumption would seem to negate the possibility of Photoshop actually incorporating new features with later versions so permanent downward compatibility for Actions seems implausible.

Another example: Blur Gallery was introduced in CS6, if I’m not mistaken, but since  then Spin Blur and Path Blur were added.

How could those work in the obsolete version?

I've found this discussion, please take a look:

It sees to me this is very simple. The action calls the ACR filter; the ACR filter wasn't available in CS6. That's really all there is to it.

I have the latest Camera Raw installed already.

No you don't, you have the latest version that will work with Photoshop CS6, which is pretty old.
