CC25 Brush smoothing not working?

just updated to CC25 and now I'm not seeing any difference between 0% and 100% smoothing on the paintbrush tool. This is using the default brushes on their default settings.

no dice but it does not surprise me that photoshop gave a special problem just for me!

@TachyonLiz it's working fine for me with Photoshop version 26.2 on Windows 10, have tried manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset

I tried uncheckingWindows Ink but this disabled 'pressure for size'
