I have On One installed on my system, as a result it seems that it is the default program for .psd and jpg files...how do I change this to be Photoshop instead? I want to keep On One just not to be the default.

Changing the default is an OS issue, and you didn’t say your OS.

  • On a Mac, use Finder. In Windows, use Windows File Explorer
  • Select a file with a .psd extension. Right click.
  • On a Mac, choose Get Info. On Windows, choose Open With.
  • Choose PS and be sure to say for all files with the extension, not just the one.
  • Repeat for .jpg.

Hi

No worries, many people don't know this. It's this section of the Get Info panel. You'll need to do it once for .psd and once for .jpg. You can start with any file that has that extension. Cmd+I is the shortcut.

Hi.  I have PSE10 and PSE12 installed on Windows10.  They both work fine however when I try to change the JPG right-click Edit, it only shows me PSE10.  Do I have to uninstall PSE10 before I can add 12 to the Edit choice.  Thanks.

Correction:  It is the "OpenWith" option that shows PSE10 but not 12.  Also would be better if I could change the "Edit with" selection instead.  Any help is appreciated.

Hi

I'm not on Windows anymore, but as I recall, there is a Browse button where you can navigate to your applications folder and select the correct program. No, you don't have to uninstall. If you show a screen shot, it will trigger my memory. (Or a Windows user may jump in.)
