Circle

I have been on PS since PS 3 and I do not care for the changes that keep happening. I need to draw a circle within a circle and color the inner circle. I can make the circle with the elipse tool and the moment I touch the image the circle vanishes.WTH?

How do I use that dXXn tool and keep it from vanishing?

New problem... can't use the eraser tool. I do this all the time but no matter what I select, the original image, or the copy image, I cannot erase regardless of which eraser I select. I need to clean up the edge of the feather, actually a lot of feathers, and some of the inner slits where the black of the shirt will show through in priinting. Thank you very much.

I made a duplicate layer and that was erasable. Why couldn't I erase on the original tiff layer?

Check in the options bar you are using the ellipse tool to draw a shape and not a path.

To attach an image use the blue reply button  next to your original post and you will see an image button.

Thank you all, I needed it right then so hand drew it. I will watch the video and follow your directions. I have never seen things behave so annoyingly as in the CC versions of PS. Now I need to erase something and it has a mask. No matter which image, the original, the unmasked ... can't erase no matter which eraser I select.

Can you grab a screen shot of your workspace with the layers panel showing, and paste it to this thread?

Just paste it from the clipboard with Ctrl v. Or if you have saved it to a local drive, use the forum image widget, but you will need to hit the reply button to your first post to have all the options. (We are using a new platform for the Adobe forums, and they are not fully sorted out yet,)
