Clone only hard

Something strange has happened to my clone stamp. Suddenly it will only clone with hard brush and not with soft. Any solutions? Photoshop on Mac.

Does this mean that even if the hardness value is small it will be like 100%?

Try resetting the Clone Stamp tool to its defaults. Right-click the Clone Stamp icon in the options bar (not Tools panel) and choose "Reset tool".

Note: If you are using a one-button mouse on macOS, Control+click is the same as right-click with a two-button mouse.

Are you saying you are unable to adjust the brush hardness when using the Clone tool?

Most of the tools that use a cursor, allow you to change and select any of the brush presets.  Right click in the image window to open the preset options.
