Clone Stamp Tool beginner

I am trying to learn how to use the clone stamp tool. I have been taking the PS tutorials. When I do the clone stamp, I seem to leave a big circle. I've adjusted the size but can't seem to get the technique for using this tool without it just looking like...say...a stamp! Any tips for a beginner?

Hi

When you are painting with the clone stamp tool, watch the cross that shows where you are getting the pixels from. In your case, it appears you went a tad too far. To fix it, go to the Healing Brush tool "J" and click once on the yellow circle with an appropriate-sized brush.
