PS won't let me use the clone stamp tool, giving message that source document has a different bit depth. My images were originally scanned at 24-bit RGB, and they are now in 16-bit RGB. But PS now does not have 24-bit as an option, only 8, 16, 32-bit. Converting to 8-bit didn't help. I found a workaround, using an old version of PS, in which the clone stamp works fine on these files, but it's painful to use that computer etc. Q is; Can I fix this glitch in current PS?? (v 21.1.1 on MacBook Pro OS 10.14.6). I can't invest the time to re-scan these many dozens of old prints. Thanks for any help.

And BTW, 24-bit is 8-bit. It just counts all three channels - 8+8+8=24. Just different naming conventions, but the same thing.

Hello! I had the same issue and reset tool did not help at all. However, if you click on Clone Source on the left side and chose a different stamp it should work. Do not use the stamp source with a warning sign :warning:. Hope that helps someone else.
