Clone tool

Hello, 

I am having an issue with the clone tool on Mac and looking for additional advice on how to fix it. 

I am able to select the area that I want to clone and can visibly see the clone on the area that I want it to be, but when I click, nothing happens. I have selected all layers and have reset the tool, but I'm still unable to paint over the area. Please help!
