CMD+Backspace not working for "Do not save" dialog

Hello, I just updated my mac from to Sonoma to Sequoia, and when closing an unsaved document in Ps I can't hit CMD+Backspace for "Don't Save" like I used to. In other apps the (mac standard) shortcut still works, but it doesn't in Photoshop 2025. I have been doing this for ages and it's really slow/annoying to have to move the mouse instead of just using the keyboard. Is there some setting I'm missing?

 

PS: I'm aware of the systemwide setting that allows to navigate dialog buttons using "Tab", but it doesn't quite cut it for me, as I prefer having a specific shortcut that I can quickly hit with muscle memory.

I tried that before (as I found it googling as a "legacy" shortcut) and it didn't work. However I just found the stupidest thing: in my Italian localization the button starts with "N" (Non salvare) so I tried CMD+N and it DOES actually work...

This is nightmare material though, reminescent of old Windows OSes where shortcuts were localized and different for each software.

The advantage of System-wide coherent shortcuts is that I don't have to THINK about the correct shortcut and hit it automatically... having CMD+N ("New file" obviously) double as Don't Save ONLY in Ps is never gonna stick with my brain 😞

Hopefully there's a way to restore the System-wide behavior.

Does Command-D work? I'm not sure if this changes with language settings but it works in US English.

Hi @Hagam_it! Welcome to the community! 😊

It sounds like another app might be taking over the shortcut that Photoshop uses. Some users have found that adding a different shortcut and assigning it to the menu item where it's not working, then going back and deleting the newly created shortcut can help. Could you give that a try and see if it solves the issue?

I already thought about trying that but I can't find a way to do what you suggested, and it makes sense it's not a customizable shortcut since it's a dialog that's supposed to use system-wide shortcuts...
