Hi there, I am learning to design and sell mockups for things like cards, envelopes, planners, etc...
I came up with an idea to take an envelope and separate the flap from the rest of the envelope so I can layer the card in the middle for it to go under the flap for another mockup view. I would like to give the option for the user to be able to easily recolor the envelope as a whole but can't seem to find a way to do this without the two pieces merging together. For the example below I had to choose a color for the top, then copied the hex code in the bottom piece, but I don't want a buyer to have to do both steps if not needed.
Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any advice on how to do this the right way.
Best,
DRM

There are probably multiple ways but I come with one quick solution in case you do not want customer to change layout or move Thank You card. Envelope can be in single group. Put that group above card and mask area where card should appear.
Another solution is to use cloned (and masked) Smart Object layers. In that case user needs to double click on Smart Object layer then to change color and save, this is standard process for mockup files. That will change color automatically on second cloned Smart Object layer. You can create cloned Smart Object layer by duplicating existing SM layer using Ctrl + J keyborad shortcut.

Thank you Bojan,..I don't think the cloned smart object will work for me because the envelope is in two pieces so I can put the flap over the card. I actually don't mind the customer being able to move the card around to suit their needs. The envelope pieces are linked together but they can still move as one unit.
I've tried just playing around with different things, but no matter what I come up with, I still have to change colors separately.
I put a copy of the pieces I am working with below if anyone wants to give it a go and maybe send me a screenshot of how it is done, if it can be done.
thanks a ton!

Just checking in to see if there are further ideas,..I feel like I am close to getting this solved but still stuck.
Thanks
