Color Picker function

is it possible to alter the way the color picker functions so as to match that of the HSL adjustment tool with realtime visual results with an active selection? purpose- instead of having to continually adjust 3 individual sliders to achieve the desired color change, using the color picker in this manner in essence would combine all 3 HSL sliders into one tool allowing a more precise/quicker color selection to be made.

I'm not sure how practical that would be as you would lose some control. Have you had a look at the Adobe Addons site? There may be a third party plugin that may do what you require?

Brad, in what way would some control be lost?

I am trying to see how , from what you describe, that would work. If I have a selection and then go to the colour picker I would not want colours in that selection to change.
For a quick colour selection can you not change the color panel to the Hue cube :
Or click on the foreground to bring up this ?

dave, i would like the color picker to function in the same manner that the HSL adjustment does. when using the HSL, a realtime update of the change occurs, you see the color change as you are moving the slider. i would like to use the color picker to change a color, the advantage i see to using the color picker for this, if it was able to be changed to function in this manner, is that not only does the color change obviously, but also the sat/lum also changes at the same time.

Hi
Sorry it must just be me as I am still puzzled.
If you move the sliders in the Color panel then the box showing the foreground colour does change in real time.
If you use the foreground colour picker - the colour box changes in real time.
Given that these sliders are adjusting your foreground /background colour then that is correct behaviour.
What that will look like when brushed/filled or whatever your image is will vary by tool (brush/paintbucket...) - opacity - flow - blending mode etc. So when you change the foreground colour ready for the next stroke, I don't see how you could preview the next stroke.
However , it may just be that I have not grasped your idea.

Dave, it may be that i left details out that are causing the confusion.
example- i have an active selection of a shirt and want to change the color
of it, if i use the HSL panel i must click on the hue slider to choose a
color and as the slider moves the color can be seen changing in the
selection at the same time. then i must click on the sat slider, move the
sat slider, and i see the change occur at the same time, and finally the
lightness slider with the same steps and result. instead of click this
slider, move the slider, release the mouse, click the next slider etc... i
want to use the fg/bg color picker to change the color of an active
selection and see the change happen in realtime just as i would see it
change in realtime using the HSL sliders. i can one click and drag with the
color picker to accomplish this. i don't want to have to continually click
and adjust 3 individual sliders to get to eventually get the choice of
color i want. hope this is a clearer explanation.

Ah - got it now .
Put a feature request in on the link in my last post. That's where Adobe are more likely to see it.
