Color picker stuck on gray

Question

So i dont know what exactly happened. but in the middle of working on a project I had my color picker select gray without me doing anything and now wont change to anything else.

I have tried switching to RGB in the image options. but it was already on that setting.

Hello, @Mr.MediaCenter In the future, please post a screenshot of the entire interface.

I have different guesses: is a layer mask targeted? that might be why you can only get greyscales. But the color picker should still show a circle.

I would suggest, while inthe color picker window is up, to hold ALT, and click on the Reset button that replaces the cancel button.

You could also right-click on the eyedropper icon in the option bar, and select "reset tool".
