Color Profile?

I am having a problem where when I move an image to a new blank canvas the colors become dull and not as vibrant as in the original.  I have checked the color profile and they are both RGB and 8 bit.  I even printed and compared and there is clearly a difference.  The original is flattened so it is not a problem of moving without an Adjustment Layer.  I am using PS CC 2018. Any ideas as to why the image is changing color?

You said you checked the color profile, which one does each document use?

The fastest way to find out would be to click the ">" to the right of the status bar at the bottom of the window, where it currently said "Doc: ", and choose Document Profile from the pop-up menu.

I have checked the color profile and they are both RGB

You didn‘t tell us what the profile is—RGB is a color mode not a profile. Click the arrow in the lower left of the doc window and choose Document Profile for both the source and destination docs.

Hi
You have given the colour mode (RGB) and the bit depth (8 bit) but not the colour profile which is likely to be sRGB, Adobe RGB or ProPhoto). Check your colour settings for Colour management policies and ensure Preserve Embedded Profiles is set.

Ok. I clicked the arrow and found that they were not the same Then I checked the Color Settings and they were set to Preserve Embedded Profiles, but one was Adobe RGB 1998 and the new canvas was sRGB. So I changed it to Adobe RGB 1998 and now it looks the same. Thank you both for your help!
