Color swatch history not working right

Question

Hi,Working with Photoshop CC ver. 20.0.0 on Mac OS here.I recently pushed some keys wrong (don't ask me how) and screwed up my Photoshop work window. I seem to have gotten it back the way it was, but I just noticed that the color history at the top of the Swatches panel isn't working the way it's supposed to: When I select a color with the eyedropper tool, the leftmost swatch in the history row changes color to match, but if I then select another color, the previous color no longer gets pushed to the right the way it did before; instead, the leftmost swatch just changes to the new color and the previous color disappears. There's no longer a history of the most recent colors used. How can I get it back?Thanks,-Frank

Hi Frank,Thanks for reaching out. We are here to help.  The Swatches panel (Window > Swatches) stores colors that you use often and display a default set of swatches that you can work with. You can add or delete colors from the panel or display different libraries of colors for different projects.  As a quick solution, you can backup and reset Photoshop's preferences by following the steps mentioned here.Go to the location of the preference folder mentioned below and rename it to backup it up.
