Question

Colour difference between Photoshop and Lightroom!

How is it possible that there are these color and brightness differences between Photoshop and Lightroom?

They are both the same images and in tif format. Photoshop and Lightroom have the latest version, also Camera RAW.

How come and what is the truth now? Photoshop or Lightroom or neither.... How can I solve this?

@D Fosse  I use an iMac and I don't have a second monitor on it. The iMac is calibrated. I just recalibrated it two days ago.

OK. Can you try a generic monitor profile, either the system profile, or DCI-P3? How does that look?

What calibrator are you using? There was a recent case where an iMac user had trouble with profiles from DisplayCAL, can't recall if that was resolved.

Are you using two displays, like an iMac/MBP + an external monitor?

In that case it's most likely a fairly common problem where one application is using the wrong monitor profile. It's using the profile for the main display even if the application is on the secondary display.

This has been frequently reported lately from Mac users with this display configuration. It has previously also been seen with some Windows laptops, but recently it seems to be Mac-specific. The common factor is integrated display plus external connected display. That points to a problem in display assignment in the video card/OS.

The workaround is to change main<> secondary display in the OS.

If that's not it, it's a defective/corrupt display profile. That can affect applications differently.

Either way, the problem is with the monitor profile, not the document profiles. There is no reason to "match" Photoshop and Lightroom (which you can't anyway).
