When I post images on 'Instagram' etc, the colours are much darker than they are on Photoshop or on my Desktop. How can I export them to be exactly the same.

I'm using Photoshop CC 2020 and a MacBook Pro.

Phones are not color calibrated, so you will never be able to match them, but you should make sure you are using sRGB profile.

Hi

this is likely a colourmaagement issue.

are you referring to instagram on a browser or on a phone / tablet?

actually, the way a file should be treated doesn't change much

- although online (web browser) display can benefit from the presence of an embedded profile.

in any case, for either, try converting your images to sRGB (and save with the profile embedded so web browsers can read it).

make this conversion before placing images on instagram

sRGB is a useful colourspace for fairly universal online (browser) & phone/tablet use.

for iPhone (iPad & recent iMac)  specifically, we now have **Apple's P3 colourspace, similar to, but not the same as, sRGB,

so perhaps try that too and check out the difference.

**Display P3 color space, created by Apple Inc. This color space uses the DCI P3 primaries, a D65 white point, and the same gamma curve as the sRGB color space. You can read more about the DCI-P3 colorspace on Wikipedia.

I hope this helps

if so, please "like" my reply and if you're OK now, please mark it as "correct", so that others who have similar issues can see the solution

thanks
