Command T (Transform) Not working

I just installed Photoshop CS4 on my Mac.  My OS is 10.5.8.

It appears the keyboard short cut command + T  for free transform is not working.    Other short cuts are working, like Command S, Command Z, the regular ones. But not sure what else may not be working if anything. Any suggestions? Ive already contacted my keyboard manufacture and they said its not an issue with the keyboard itself.

I'm shocked. Shocked I tell ya!

Transform won't work on locked or background layers. You must also have a layer highlighted in blue (in the layers panel) for it to work. If not, you might try resetting the prefs (hold command-option-shift as you launch PS, and confirm at the prompt).

Thanks for the suggestion. I made sure I was not on a locked layer and I also selected something other than the background layer. Did not work. I also restarted PS and reset prefs with no luck.  Any other ideas?

Your Command key works. Your T key works. Its only your Operating system that knows when they are pressed together… as I say look at other software.

Having said this the new FLAT mac keyboards bought directly from Apple in the UK are not that well made, I have had to replace mine twice. Just plain poor manufacturing quality, very unlike Apple, I'm afraid

Mark, thank you very much. This issue is resolved! "Text To Speech" was assigned to Command +T.  Its nots something I use anyway so I just deselected that option.

Now Command +T works as assigned in all applications discussed above. TextEdit, iTunes and Photoshop.
