Content-Aware Move Tool problem

Hi.

So I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 with the updates and everything .

I have trouble with the content aware move tool.

When I select the image I want to move ( well actually when I move it ) Photoshop doesn't delete the previous image ( that I tried to move ) and leaves it under the new one ( moved ) .

If somebody have similar problem and has fixed it please tell me . Also I'm a beginner so if there is some sort of setting I have to know about and that causes the problem please let me know .

Thanks for your time .

Have a nice day .

Edit: I want to use it on transparent background

Correct answer

Switch from "Expand" mode to "Move" mode.

I am also having a problem with the Content-Aware move tool.  It does move my object but it leaves out parts of the object and there are still remnants of the original object left in the image.  I am forced to use other tools to try to remove the pieces of the original object that are left in the original position in my image.

I see this thread is very old. I am using Adobe Classic 26.5.0

I'm suggested you that, please carefully check your layer panel.
