Question

Content Credentials fails to embed the metadata

Hello,

Content Credentials is not working to me anymore. I didn't use it for a while and it keeps on having errors since a few days I'm trying. I also deleted preferences, installed photoshop from scratch and nothing works. I even tried disabling GPU acceleration (even if it's not related).

  • At first the the window is fine even if it reports about the new upgrade that is going on (content_ok.jpg)
  • Then I go to the export options (export dialog.jpg)
  • After clicking on export after a few moments the is an error popup reporting: "ACAI extension timed out when requesting Vulcan to launch" (error_popup.jpg)
  • After that the Content Credential windows gets error too "Something went wrong and Content Credentials (Beta) isn't available. (content_ko.jpg)

I hope that this can be fixed soon or at least some kind of workaround for using it.

Thanks

Hi @franzipol ,

If the sys info hangs, that usually refers to a GPU issue, try:

  1. Quit Photoshop
  2. Navigate to Photoshop's Preferences folder.

Windows: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

  1. Look for a file called sniffer-out.txt

Post the text from that file in a reply here.

Thank you,

I don't know why and i really have no idea but a few minutes ago it started working.

The System info still hangs everything

If open the link you sent in the first reply it reports this

cai-helper:0.3.1:release

I've just tried it and nothing changed.

Could it be something I installed? My machine is also used for development purposes.

I'm sending you privately the system informations generated by dxdiag and the full list of installed software

thank you for the logs and for your reply with more info!
Because System Info is not working too, it might indicate that the problem is not with Content Credentials, but something else is not working right (which is causing Content Credentials not to work)
Could you try "Repair" Creative Cloud Desktop? Go to Add/Remove program, and try either Repair option for Creative Cloud Desktop, or Uninstall - then choice 'Repair'?

I sent you the log through email right now

About the system info through the help menu it keeps on doing nothing and hanging even after restarting ot holding shift

The path for the logs was slightly different from the one you reported. Here is the one i used

c:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Logs

>> 1. When i choose system info photoshop becomes unresponsive and then hangs

Can you try restarting machine? Or try holding Shift keys while launching Photoshop so it will not load 3rd party plugins

>>The address can't be reached

with Photoshop running and Export As dialog open?

could you also send us UXP log? You can find it in
MAC
/Users/<username>/Library/Logs/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop 2022
WIN
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Logs\Adobe Photoshop 2022
It will be the most recent one with a name like “UXPLogs_2022-02-16_11-48-00_815357.log”

(you can direct message me the log or email it)

thank you for reporting it and sorry you're seeing this issue

To help us figure out what is going on and how to fix it, could you
1. Open Help->System Info, copy it and either post here or DM me?
2.  Launch PS, open any file, open Export As dialog.
then go to browser and paste: http://localhost:56433/api/health
-let us know which version it reports

thanks!
