Question

Convenience of Saving

I know that saving in .jpeg is still technically an 'option' but when you 'save as copy' it still suggests you save your image upon closing it. I am a photographer but I do it as a side gig and when I give the product to my customers it's always in .jpeg because I know they will be able to open those files anywhere. The saving as a .jpeg via saving as a copy has almost doubled my editing time and it's SO frustrating. I'm not entirely sure what the advantage to taking .jpeg out of the original drop down is but it is driving me to want to quit editing altogether. I have autism and ADHD and I know a huge portion of the creative community float in those neuro-spicy boats with me. I just want .jpeg put back in the original drop down. I am begging you. Please.

Just make sure the image is 8 bit depth, does not have layers of any kind, and no transparency or alpha channels.

Then it satisfies the jpeg file format specification, and jpeg is available directly in Save As.

Make an action, assign an F key, and all you need is to push a key.

Nobody seems to be interested in why this change was necessary, so I've given up trying to explain it. But if you want to know, I'll be happy to.

Do you have a macro for your fantastic explanation that you have given so many times, @D Fosse ?

I'll try to make one. Just need to get into the Zone first ... 😉
