Question

Copy paste text styles like MS Word?

Hello, Can't figure this out:

I want to be able to copy and paste just text format from one letter to another IN THE SAME TEXT LAYER.

Can this be done?

It will save me a lot of time with something I am doing if I don't have to apply text and color styles 20 times here.

Thanks.

    Hi Todd:

There isn't a copy styles function in Photoshop, but you can save your text formatting as either a Character Style (or Paragraph Style) and apply it to other text in that same file.

Hi, I tried that, but when I put a new style in, it won't apply to just one letter, just the whole text layer.  I'm trying to make a sort of drop cap, where the first letter of every word is a different font.

    Hi Todd,

Are you saying you have 20 instances of a Drop Cap on one page? Typically you might have 3-4 across a two page spread.

This is what I am trying to do:  I'm trying to make the initial letters of each word be a different font and color, as seen in this pic on the first line:

I swear I used to be able to do this in old CS5 using Ctrl-Y to repeat last action, but it doesn't seem to work in this new version.
