Hi All,

I am wondering if anyone would be happy to help. i want to edit the above image to add an additional light point around the chin area. So I have an image of a body sat squat upright with 'lights' around certain zones of the body. My question is it possible to edit and add another light using Photoshop. Almost a copy and paste. I cannot work out how to do this or if it is possible. Appreciate any help.

Thanks

Rob

This is a very rough effort using photos app on the mac. Im wondering if there is away photoshop could do a better job.? The circle around the chin needs

to be more of a Magenta colour. So I want to clone and then alter the cloned colour i guess?

You could isolate one of the lights (the one atop the head for example) and try to complete a complete circle by duplicating and transforming one half.

Then use Adjustment Layers to get the »base« to full black and set the whole thing (as a Group or Smart Object) to Blend Mode Screen.

Geez, that looks so complicated. Is it as difficult as it seems. I don't know how you would be able to isolate one of the lights.  Thank you by the way for taking the time to reply.

Geez, that looks so complicated.

I guess many things do initially but once one has familiarised oneself with some principles of a craft it might become easier.

In this case the »light« at the top of the head is the one with the most »flat« background so one can try and use that to piece together a full circle version and then change the background to a full black to allow using it on the image with Blend Mode Screen without causing visible edges.

I noticed that in Lab Color a circle could be isolated. (Note the  a  channel.)  It could then be brought into Layers, and set to Fill (Blending Mode: Color) and the layer set to Multiply. It would not be a exact match because of the flare patten which would not be copied.

I did not try it because I am concerned about the logic of the revised design for two reasons: currently the circles are of equal size.  Any additional circle would either overlap existing circles or be of an odd size. Either way, it would be an unaesthetic break in the symmetry. Second, the color sequence is currently in common spectral order: ROYGBV. An additional color would seem to be shoehorned into the scale and a distraction. I guess what I am suggesting is that you leave well enough alone. It is elegant as it is.
